Weather & Alerts
See current conditions, official alerts, and the next 72 hours for any U.S. location. Official alert and forecast data comes from NOAA's National Weather Service.
Location-specific weather intelligence
Select a location in the interactive page to view current conditions, active official alerts, forecast information, radar, hazard guidance, and NOAA Weather Radio information.
The Current Location panel identifies the selected place and coordinates. Current Conditions reports the available observation for that location, while Active Alerts shows official National Weather Service alerts or clearly says when alert status cannot be confirmed.
Forecasts, risk context and alert coverage
The weather workspace includes a 72-hour forecast, a current weather risk summary, hazard guidance, and an alert coverage map. The map can display NOAA/NWS radar when that layer is available and marks the selected location so the coverage can be understood geographically.
Weather and alert panels display freshness information and explicit unavailable or stale states rather than presenting missing data as current. Official warnings, evacuation orders, shelter instructions, emergency communications, and first-responder guidance remain authoritative.
Set up NOAA Weather Radio correctly
For supported U.S. locations, the NOAA Weather Radio section provides verified county SAME information for receiving targeted alerts. County SAME codes and National Weather Service zone identifiers are different: a weather radio should be programmed with the verified SAME code, not an NWS zone identifier.
Persistent explainers cover tornado, flood, hurricane, and wildfire alerts. Review this source-attributed guidance before severe weather arrives, and use the live location view for current official alert information.
